I'm Jonathan, the creator of SF IRL. I've been a Bay Area resident all my life and just moved into San Francisco about 1.5 years ago. My full-time job is at Brex as an XIR where I meet founders and VCs while trying to create a community in the city. My vision for SF IRL is simple. Showcase the best tech + startup events in SF and to connect all of our builders and investors together. We are a growing community having over 2600+ subscribers. This startup mixer will feature a laid back vibe, and some of the best beers in the city, the perfect way to wind down on a Wednesday Night.

Mar 2nd, 2023 - Atomic Tech Talk + Builders Happy Hour

Location: San Francisco

What: Join us for a gathering of engineers and technical product managers to discuss new ideas in tech and breakthrough products that you’re excited about. We’ll kick off the evening with a short tech talk on Generative AI and then move into Q&A and open networking session.

Mar 2nd, 2023 - Money is Funny: Tech Pitch Roast Show Gen AI

Location: San Francisco

Time: 6:30pm

What:  ​Sure, an evening of early-stage generative AI tech pitches might not sound like an uproariously good time, but add in a panel of sharp-witted comedians and veteran VC investors, and that’s just what you get! This event will take place at the beautiful Manny’s living room area.

During the show, three to four awesome founders of early-stage companies will present their pitch decks, then VCs, advisors, and comedians grill them with questions and roast the pitches. Will things stay sweet, or turn salty? Who knows, it may even end up a little spicy. Audience participation is encouraged and only adds to the fun.

Mar 8th, 2023 - Contrary x WISE International Womxn's Day Event

Location: San Francisco

Time: 6-8pm

What: We're thrilled to be co-hosting an event with WISE on International Womxn's Day to celebrate all of the amazing womxn in tech in the Bay Area. We'll plan to host a panel with Contrary's VP of Product, Jen Yang Wong, and our Principal, Megan Kao, followed by the chance to eat dinner and mingle with your peers.

Mar 8th, 2023 - How Do You Know If Your Idea is a Good One? 

Location: San Francisco

What: Join us at Handshake’s offices in Fidi, San Francisco for a hands-on workshop with Shawn Xu – climate tech investor and Skye Coach.

Taking a venture capitalist’s perspective, Shawn will help you determine if your startup idea is big enough, audacious enough, and worth spending the next 10+ years of your life building towards.

He’ll break down the key factors to consider when assessing the feasibility and potential success of a business idea – from market inflections, addressable market size, good vs great business models, capital and technology milestones, macro-environment and more.

Mar 23rd, 2023 - Game Development Lounge Afterparty + Meetup

What: SF Game Development is excited to announce our annual GDC 2023 Meetup/Party hosted at DNA Lounge on Tuesday, March 21st from 7:00pm-Midnight. Make sure to RSVP for our event on Meetup or Eventbrite for FREE entry to our event.

We listened to feedback from last years event, and we've split the event into three separate rooms focused around: music, tech talks and video game demos. We are also excited to announce that the main room will feature a special 22 Watt laser show by Vorperian Cyberarts along with custom video game themed projection mapped visuals. This is a professional networking event for game developers, artists, students, indies, or really anyone interested in game development. You do NOT need a GDC pass to attend, this is an event open to the public, must be 18+ to enter, so please RSVP, attend and show your support.
